Divergent by Veronica Roth

Hey guys! I was reading Divergent as a novel study in class last year, and I was racking my brain for a book to do, and here it is! Divergent's main character is a 16-year-old girl named Beatrice Prior. Every year 16-year-old goes through the same thing. Initiation Day is the most important day of your whole entire life in future Chicago. The city is divided into five parts depending on people's personality. Abnegation(for the selfless), Dauntless (for the brave and fearless), Erudite(for the people with a thirst of knowledge), Amity(for the peaceful) and Candor(for the honest). On Initiation Day all the 16-year-olds will choose what faction they will be loyal to. Beatrice feels like she's way too selfish for Abnegation, so on Initiation Day, she chooses Dauntless. The moment The Initiation Day Ceremony is over, it seems like initiation has already started. From jumping on to a moving train, to jumping off a roof into a dark pit, Beatrice lives through it all, until she finds out how dangerous being Divergent is. Divergent is when your personality is more than just one faction, so slowly she figures out how to keep her Divergence under control and not let the Dauntless leaders know about it. Soon after, she finds out that Erudite's evil leader Jeanine Matthews has plotted with the Dauntless leaders to get them to fight the other factions and collect all the Divergents. To her horror, Beatrice is stuck fighting against her friends in the Dauntless. Overall, I thought it was a pretty good book. I haven't seen the movie yet but I thought the author, Veronica Roth, kept the plot very interesting and she had me not wanting the book to end. Well, I hope you liked my book review! See ya later!

The T & P'S Society: Stolen Crown (part 1)

No one noticed the small shadow moving around the top secret army facility, not even the security cameras, the night guard, the scientists or the army general. The next day the headline read "RARE CROWN STOLEN FROM SECRET FACILITY". The co-presidents of The T&P'S Society & Associates sat in their office reading the article. "Detective Hassen-Lochen said " Ze culprit iz zmart but not zmart enough to dupe moi. Zee, zey sink that zey have not left any proof zat zey vere here yesterday, but zey are vrong! Zey have left zhis zmall peice of ze cloth that is coloured orange!" reports of black and white fur trailed on the ground." read out loud Perry the Panda to his friend and partner Terry the Turtle. Terry tutted and said "It must have been Professor R. again." Perry walked over to the closed windows and peeked through the shutters. "Don't you think that's the tiniest bit suspicious?" Perry asked slyly.
"What do you mean Perry?"
"Well we all know that Professor R. is Black and white, but we also know that he never wears any other colour than pink... but Detective Hassen-Lochen said there was a small piece of orange cloth. You also have to notice that in the picture, Detective Hassen-Lochen is wearing an orange uniform with orange leather shoes complete with an orange magnifying glass. Don't you think it's a little bit weird for her to look all sweaty and dark circles under her eyes?"
Terry looked deep in thought. "Yeah, you're right! I know who the culprit is!" said the turtle striking a dramatic and heroic pose. "It's...D-D-Dora the Explorer!" he blurted, Perry smacked his forehead and said in his most sincere voice "No, Terry, it's Detective Hassen-Lochen" and dragged Terry's Segway out the door of the office with the turtle on it. "Come on Terry we're going to hold a meeting!"

"Attention! May I please have your attention?" Terry the turtle spoke into the microphone. The chatter of The T & P'S Society and Associates grew louder. Finally Perry  the panda came to find the whole meeting hall full of chatter.  Perry hissed "Terry! What's going on? Why is nobody listening to you?". Terry looked sheepishly at Perry and tried to hide in his shell. The panda rolled his eyes and pulled out a device from under his fedora. "Siri, Give me a loud noise to get the attention of my fellow associates." Perry commanded. Suddenly a loud beeping noise came from the small device and all the chatter immediately stopped. "Thank You for your attention. Now as Terry was supposed to say..." Perry shot a look at the headless shell and continued "As most of you have seen, the Crystal Marzipan Crown was stolen and the oh-so-famous Detective Hassen-Lochen was on the case and how she found the orange cloth and how her clothes were all orange?! Well, I think we just figured the culprit." said the panda with a small smirk on his face. The chatter of the associates returned and everybody filed out the door. "WAIT!!!" shouted a voice everyone froze in their tracks to see where the voice had come from. It was Carly the Cat. "What now, Carly?" said Terry.
"Just to be sure, the culprit is  Dora the Explorer, right?" Carly said slowly. "See?! Carly agrees with me!" said Terry. Perry looked at Terry and Carly and explained the whole concept of the Detective Hassen-Lochen. "O-o-o-o-o-o-oh" they said together. In no time the hall was so quiet and empty, they didnt see the shadow of a magnifying glass attached to a hand pass by.
